Art

As much as the stories of science fiction and fantasy carry us to new worlds and adventures, the sights of those imagined far away places, cultures and technologies transport our imaginations of thing to come. Artists render the wordcraft of authors so that we may see what the writer is thinking. It's a form of mind melding with sight rather than touch.

We choose the above painting by Chesley Bonestell for the1950 AmericanTechnicolor Film Destination Moon to illustrate this collection of classic sci-fi art because as otherworldly it may seem it was drawn entirely fro the mind of one man who never saw the Moon's surface and even though the film was in color, Bonestell somehow knew the Moonscape would be cold and colorless.
